Houston Police:Homicide detectives are en route to a scene in the 6200 block of West Little York Rd. Preliminary information is about 10 a.m. a witness discovered what appeared to be human remains near the railroad tracks. No other information is currently available.

10 month agoShortly before midnight the EastlandComplex fire reached the city of Groman, TX and has already claimed 2 houses. Can hear cows in the distance screaming trying to get away from the fire. The fire appears to have been stopped before making to main the roads

10 month agoThe complex is 39,883 acres and 0% contained. Units are running out of water now. Biggest threat to Rising Star is the east flank of the fire. Nursing home has been fully evacuated. Units advised to look out for spot fires near town

10 month agoFire crews in the small community of Ranger are still putting out a fire that engulfed four structures today. One of which is a 100-year-old church downtown. Chief told it's likely a BBQ pit started everything and the high winds fueled the flames
