HCSO deputies responded to a major accident in the 2500 block of US 90. One person is confirmed, an adult and infant were life-flighted to a hospital. Drivers should avoid the area.

1 year agoThe Avenue Coffee & Cafe sustained some serious damage following the explosion at the TPC Group. The coffee shop is located on Port Neches Avenue. They are cleaning-up right and plan to be open later in the day.

1 year agoOfficials said five people were rescued from the second floor of the building as crews battled the fire. The five people were checked and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and there were no transports to the hospital.
1 year agoOfficials said one of the chemicals burning is butadiene. The chemical will evaporate into the air, even from water or dirt, and will break down quickly in sunlight. According to Americanchemistry.com, “environmental sources include industrial releases from butadiene production and use, automobile exhaust, cigarette smoke and other combustion sources.”

A large police presence is being reported near 8th Street and Cumberland. Police on scene tell two people were shot and killed - a man and woman.

1 year agoThese are pictures of a home in the Hebert Woods neighborhood, about a half mile from the TPC plant in Port Neches, where the explosion occurred earlier. The front door was blown off the hinges, insulation fell from ceiling, windows shattered and garage door damaged.

1 year agoOne person was pronounced dead at the scene while another was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The identities of the two victims have not yet been released.
A 17-year-old was shot to death inside a car, and a couple of other teens with him are being questioned, deputies say.
HCSOTexas units responded to 1050 Katy Fort Bend Rd. Units found a stopped car in the roadway occupied by 4 males. One male had a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased. The three other occupants were all 17 yrs. The shooting is believed to have happened elsewhere
