HCSO deputies responded to a major accident in the 2500 block of US 90. One person is confirmed, an adult and infant were life-flighted to a hospital. Drivers should avoid the area.

2 month agoThe Avenue Coffee & Cafe sustained some serious damage following the explosion at the TPC Group. The coffee shop is located on Port Neches Avenue. They are cleaning-up right and plan to be open later in the day.

2 month agoOfficials said five people were rescued from the second floor of the building as crews battled the fire. The five people were checked and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and there were no transports to the hospital.
2 month agoOfficials said one of the chemicals burning is butadiene. The chemical will evaporate into the air, even from water or dirt, and will break down quickly in sunlight. According to Americanchemistry.com, “environmental sources include industrial releases from butadiene production and use, automobile exhaust, cigarette smoke and other combustion sources.”

A large police presence is being reported near 8th Street and Cumberland. Police on scene tell two people were shot and killed - a man and woman.

2 month agoThese are pictures of a home in the Hebert Woods neighborhood, about a half mile from the TPC plant in Port Neches, where the explosion occurred earlier. The front door was blown off the hinges, insulation fell from ceiling, windows shattered and garage door damaged.
